Hello! We heard your feedback and questions about wanting a definitive guide to uploading and sharing images on Patreon. I’m happy to share this new help article that has all the info you need and will be always updated if this info ever changes.
Image size cheat sheet
It’s fine if your images are larger than the dimensions listed! Just keep in mind that we will optimize them for your patrons’ feeds.
While we recommend sizing your post images (gallery and inline) to 1500px by 900px, there are some tried and tested ratios that look great in apps and on the web. Because you can upload larger format images, we have included a larger version of each ratio – just know that on any screen it shows no wider than ~1080px in the feed.
High resolution images
We do optimize post images for the web and varying devices. If you are using our Image post option, the optimized version will appear in your post feed. When patrons click on the image, the image will expand to its original uploaded size.
If you want patrons to have access a high resolution file of your images, we recommend uploading your images as an attachment to your posts, especially if you are adding images inline to text posts. Please note that your attachment files must be 512 MB or less.
