SO I had a really interesting offer from one of my patrons tonight. He suggested I start a campaign while I am at Patrecon trying to get more patrons and he offered to do a one time donation to me of $5 for each new patron I get through Sunday up to $200!

Super cool idea, and I am so grateful he is willing to do this. I’m just wondering if anyone else has done something like this because I would love to know what the experience was like.

Have you done something like this? If you haven’t, do you have any thoughts about how to make it work? I am 22 patrons away from having 150, so that could be a cool angle too, and since I will be posting about Patrecon over the next week anyway, it’ll feel sort of normal to have this extra mini-campaign happening.

Let me know if you have any thoughts or experience with this!

Wow, what an amazing patron! I haven’t heard of anything like this, but hope some other creators have done something along these lines. You see this often in the non-profit world, so wonder if you can steal some ideas from that. Also! Goli Sheikholeslami will be speaking at PatreCon, this may be a good question for her!

I had a similar offer and was wondering if it was best to do this through Patreon or to set up a one-time fundraiser through PayPal or another crowd-funding site. If you could let me know how this works for you that would be most appreciated.

turns out I just got a few new patrons during that run and he just paypal’d it to me!

Haven’t tried it yet. Just got another opportunity to try it and waffling over this vs. taking a run at a special offer.
